This Big City is a multi-award-winning urbanism blog launched in 2009 by Joe Peach. It has been read millions of times and is home to thousands of articles on culture, community, innovation and place.

👋🏻 Joe has spent over a decade leading communications and brand initiatives for mission-driven tech companies – including global conglomerates, VC-backed scale-ups and Seed-stage startups. He is Senior Brand and Communications Manager at Prolific, after stints at WhereIsMyTransport, Siemens and IBM. He is based in Edinburgh, Scotland.

💡 Joe sits on the Boards of tech-for-good firm National Support Network and communications publication Influence Magazine. He was previously a member of the Academy of Urbanism in Scotland’s Advisory Group, and the Mayor of London’s Low Carbon Entrepreneur scheme Steering Group.

👨🏻‍🎓 Joe is a Accredited Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and Member of the Academy of Urbanism. He holds an MSc in Real Estate and Planning, an MA in Sustainable Communities and the Creative Economy and a BA (Hons) in Visual Studies.

📣 Occasional blogger and speaker, Joe’s writing has been published online and in print and he has contributed to conferences in Europe, the Americas and remotely.
