Floating Cities and Climate Change

Check out this article from the New York Times exploring a new concept city by Architectural Design Consultancy DeltaSync.

Due to their unfortunate geographical situation, it is unsurprising that the Dutch are leading the way in floating urbanization.

Made from high strength concrete and masses and masses of polystyrene, the pod-like city will rise with sea levels, making this a genuine option for the Netherlands if the worst climate predictions come true.

This floating city could be powered using heat drawn from the waters surface, and if any existing cities still exist in this vision of the future, they could be connected by floating highways.

Despite seeming almost entirely fictional, floating towns already exist in the Netherlands, and DeltaSync sell many products equipping people for a floating future.
